Held online between 22-24 March 2023, the first Climateurope2 webstival featured talks on EU adaptation strategy, climate risk assessment, mission adaptation, and other Horizon Europe missions. The side session of Friday 24 March (14:00 – 16:00 CET) was focused on the CLIMAAX project. Project coordinator Bart van den Hurk (Deltares) and Erika Meléndez (UPC) gave keynotes speechs; Anna Pirani (CMCC) moderated the following panel that included Dace Gaile (LVĢMC), Veronica Casartelli (CMCC), and Jeroen Arts (IVM).
As part of the session, a call for evidence and participation was launched to gather and systematically review knowledge on how risks are assessed and addressed. The invitation is opened to individuals, organisations, and knowledge networks to take part in the development and evaluation of the Framework for conducting climate risk assessments at the local and regional level.
Open to climate services’ users, producers, and other stakeholders, the webstival brought together the climate services community. It combined different forms of engagement including high-level panels, thematic dialogues, showcases of applied services, as well as other innovative and fun formats to raise awareness, foster dialog, and promote the wider uptake of climate services.
