On June 10, representatives from European regions and municipalities participating in the CLIMAAX consortium gathered in Barcelona to share experiences and discuss key challenges in climate risk assessment.
The event, held at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum, marked the second in-person workshop for the CLIMAAX consortium—and the first specifically designed for the 69 regions and municipalities selected through the FSTP Open Calls. Over 200 participants joined, including regional representatives, consortium members, and experts from institutions and organizations involved in risk management and climate adaptation.
The second day of the workshop, on June 11, will begin with a conference featuring welcoming remarks from: Marta Cassany Virgili, Director General of Civil Protection of the Government of Catalonia; Jordi Berenguer, Vice-Rector for Knowledge Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship at UPC; Sophie Berger, representing the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change; Frederiek Sperna Weiland, CLIMAAX project coordinator; and Daniel Sempere-Torres, Director of CRAHI at UPC and CLIMAAX co-coordinator.
