Community of Practice | River Flood Risk Assessment: Learning from Regions
Flooding is emerging as one of Europe’s most disruptive and costly climate threats, with growing impacts on communities, critical infrastructure, natural systems, and regional economic stability. Heavier downpours and altered river dynamics – often intensified by urban expansion and land-use change – are reshaping exposure and vulnerability in ways that require rigorous, data-driven Climate Risk Assessments (CRAs).
This CLIMAAX Community of Practice webinar is the third in the new hazard- and workflow-focused series. Participants will gain insights into how regional teams have assessed flood hazard likelihood, exposure, and vulnerability, and how the resulting analysis has informed local adaptation planning and risk management strategies.
Through regional experiences and discussion with Toolbox developers, participants will gain practical insights into methodological choices, challenges, and lessons learned, supporting the translation of flood risk assessment into actionable resilience strategies.
The event’s full agenda will be available soon.
