CLIMAAX participated in the Climateurope2 Festival 2025, held in Belgrade, Serbia, from September 29 to October 1. The festival, titled “Empowering society through climate services” and organized by the Center for the Promotion of Science, offered a platform to strengthen collaboration and the climate services community in Eastern Europe.
On Wednesday, 1st October, Dana Stuparu (Deltares) represented CLIMAAX in the session “Mission Adaptation – Dialogue in the Region”, giving a keynote presentation on the project’s role in advancing local adaptation practices. In the same session, Paola Mercogliano (CMCC) highlighted the contributions of the sister project Adaptation AGORA.
The session also featured a panel discussion, moderated by Jaroslav Mysiak (CMCC), with representatives from Southeast European cities and regions, including Teodora Subotić (Provincial Secretariat for Urban Planning and Environmental Protection) of the CLIMACHANGE subproject of CLIMAAX (Vojvodina, Serbia). Panelists shared their experiences and reflected on the opportunities, challenges, and needs for applying climate knowledge to support effective adaptation.
The festival brought together experts, policymakers, and innovators to discuss the design, use, quality, and standardization of climate services, covering key topics such as agriculture, health, and the EU Mission on Adaptation in the region.
