SUMMARY:Community of Practice | Navigating uncertainty in future scenarios
DESCRIPTION:Understanding and selecting climate scenarios is crucial for effective climate risk assessment. In this event, we explored how scenarios are generated, what bias and uncertainty mean, and how to choose the most suitable models, Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs), and Representative Concentration Pathways (RCPs).\nTo support this process, the CLIMAAX toolbox team is developing a workflow that helps practitioners engaged in climate risk assessment to intuitively visualize climate scenarios, assess regional biases and uncertainties, and identify the most relevant options for their needs.\nThis session provided an opportunity to contribute to the co-design of a tool that reflected attendees’ priorities and capabilities, and allowed them to provide feedback on preferred visualization formats and key variables for climate risk assessment.\n\n\n
